Every now and then we all run into some glitches and bugs with our gadgets and it gets confusing to read through all the solutions found in forums. Here are some bugs I've encountered and solutions that worked for me which might be useful to you.
1. Unable to join open WiFi networks after updating to iOS 10.
The message "Security Recommendation" keeps showing up and you cannot join open WiFi networks because of that.
Solution: Turn your device off and on and problem solved!
2. Whatsapp notifications not working on iPhone 6.
Notifications are enabled but you're still not getting notified about new messages and you have to open the app to check for new messages all the time.
Solution: Go to Settings<Notifications<Notification Style and look for Whatsapp from the list.
Choose Alerts instead of Banners and that's it! It worked for me so I hope it works for you too.
3. Laptop loses WiFi connectivity.
This one I simply observed that every time I had my phone or my tablet near the laptop it would lose its WiFi connection. I assumed it was because the other gadgets were interfering with the communication between the router and the laptop that's why I experimented with moving the other gadgets away from the laptop and it worked; connectivity was restored.
Another solution would be to turn your WiFi router off and on.
4. Iphone mail app not fetching new messages
New messages are not showing up in the inbox even after refreshing it. After making sure I had "push" settings on in Settings<Mail, turning the phone off and on worked for me.
5. Iphone pictures not showing up on Windows computer
The computer could detect the iPhone but could not see the pictures in it. It was telling me there were no pictures in the phone and the DCIM folder was empty in Windows Explorer.
I've searched high and low for the solution to this problem. The phone seemed to work with some computers and some not. Finally, I experimented with turning off the phone's passcode in Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Turn passcode off. So happy when I finally saw my pictures appear at last! Remember to keep the phone awake all the time when doing this and to press "Trust" on the phone when prompted to allow the Windows computer access.
6. Videos showing up as zero bytes using copy and paste from iPhone to Windows computer
What I did was, using the Camera and Scanner Wizard which automatically appears when you plug in your phone to the computer, under the "Type a name for this group of pictures" I put "Videos" instead of the default "Picture" and it worked.
